One in every 36 children have Autism. Autism can be diagnosed in children by the age of 2, yet the average age of diagnosis and intervention services in Kentucky is nearing the age of 5. The wait time and cost burden for an Autism diagnosis are rapidly increasing, which hinders timely intervention. Early intervention services are proven to improve long term success in things like behaviors, independence and graduation/employment rates.
For those seeking proper diagnosis, the hurdles that families and caregivers will face begin at step one. A proper diagnosis, through a physician and psychologist, could take months. We aim to help families navigate the hurdles and utilize resources in order to accelerate the diagnosis process and ensure early intervention is received for long-term success.
Once receiving a diagnosis, individuals with Autism will be faced with waiting lists for therapy services, limited financial support and educational plans. Our mission is to assist families with the navigation of these complex processes to ensure ASD individuals receive all the help that's available to them.
We deliver a powerful platform for collaboration and change. We are determined to create spaces where voices are amplified, ideas are shared, and partnerships are forged. Through forums, discussions, and active engagement, we will challenge the status quo, drive awareness, and advocate for Autism rights.
